The Flying Kangaroo Alliance are a 4 piece alternative rock/punk band with influences of the 90’s ‘grunge’ scene. Band members, Meri Everitt – Vocals/Guitar, Ali Findlay – Guitar, Ivan Hunt – Drums (until the 5th July 2014) and Keeley Knight – Bass/Vocals, work well together. Keeley’s bass play and stage craft is great to hear and watch, Ali’s guitar play works well with Meri’s vocals and Ivan’s Drums are absolutely banging. All in all a very energetic bunch who demonstrate their craft as musicians and own every stage they play on. Clearly F.K.A are a band of note!


Why is feminism important to you?

Where do we start? Because women's voices are not heard as much as men's. Because we have to make an effort to consume media and art that is created by women. Because without women's input the human race will kill itself off. Because women all over the world are abused and not given equal rights to men. Because we need women to be powerful. Men and women, we all need this. All the music of Flying Kangaroo Alliance tries to speak to those who don't feel powerful, telling them they are not alone and there is strength inside. It also gives those who choose to take power a good talking to! We don't make music for those who are already happy, they don't need it. It's for those who need us. We are there and we will all fight for equality together.
