The Tuts are a DIY all girl punk band from Hayes, Middlesex who have toured with Kate Nash, The Selecter and played Glastonbury festival. We write songs about sexism, ex-boyfriends, sexual harassment, anxiety and friendship and put on a chaotic hair-whipping live performance.

Why is feminism important to you?

Feminism is important to us because we are still very far from achieving gender equality- socially, economically and politically. In a lot of industries women are still a minority, the wage gap between men and women is still far too big and rape and sexual assault statistics are still through the roof. This stuff NEEDS to be talked about and addressed. Don't ever let a man or pressures of society silence you or make you feel like you're exaggerating or 'making a fuss'. Speak up about things you think that aren't right.
